FAQ

About EchoMe Tales

What is EchoMe Tales?

EchoMe Tales is a personalised audio storytelling experience for children, available on Spotify. Stories are created one by one with care and love, using popular children's names in the UK and tailoring themes, language and interests to different age groups.

The stories are designed to make children feel part of the adventure while giving families an easy, screen-free way to enjoy storytelling.

What makes EchoMe Tales different from ordinary children's stories?

EchoMe Tales combines personalised children's stories with age-appropriate themes and British English vocabulary. Instead of simply listening to a generic story, a child can hear their own name woven into the adventure.

Personalised Children's Stories & Custom Requests

How does the personalisation work?

EchoMe Tales stories are crafted individually with care and love. We create ready-to-listen stories around popular children's names in the UK and tailored them to different age groups, with themes, vocabulary and interests that suit each stage.

Parents can choose an available story featuring their child's name. If the name, age group or topic they need is not yet available, they can contact us to request a custom story. We can also create stories inspired by a child's interests, special experiences or milestones.

How do I find my child's name and the right story on Spotify?

Search Spotify for “EchoMe Tales [Child's Name]”, for example “EchoMe Tales George”. This can show available stories featuring that name across different seasons and age groups.

We also create a dedicated playlist for each name. Links to these playlists are available through the official EchoMe Tales website and social media channels.

We encourage parents to follow the EchoMe Tales Spotify channel and their child's playlist so they can easily discover new stories when they are published.

What if I cannot find my child's name or want a different story?

If your child's name is not available, or you want the same name for a different age group, a particular interest, or a personal experience, simply contact us.

You can request a custom story by email or private message. Please include the child's name, age group, topic or theme, and any pronunciation guidance that would help.

For privacy, please share children's details privately rather than in public comments or posts.

What accent do EchoMe Tales stories use?

EchoMe Tales uses a clear, general British English accent rather than a strong regional British accent. The pronunciation is intentionally easy for children to understand and learn from.

If you wish to hear the story in a different accent or language, please contact us.

What should I do if my child's name is pronounced incorrectly?

Contact EchoMe Tales with the correct pronunciation details so the audio can be reviewed and corrected where possible.

EchoMe Tales Seasons & Age Groups

What ages are EchoMe Tales suitable for?

Each season focuses on experiences and skills that are relevant to its age group:

•    Little Steps (0–3): early vocabulary and language development, including colours, early numbers and simple word repetition.
•    Big Firsts (3–5): important first experiences and milestones, such as a first visit to the dentist or a first day at school.
•    Brave & Bold (6–9): familiar childhood milestones and adventures. Current stories include a story about losing a wobbly tooth.

The Specialist (10-12): Coming soon. Will focus on the analytical skills of a pre-teen kid.

More stories and themes will be added as EchoMe Tales grows.

Why are some older children's stories divided into chapters and episodes?

For older children, stories can become longer and more adventurous, with chapters, clues and continuing storylines. This format encourages children to listen closely, remember details and follow a story over several listening sessions.

How long is each EchoMe Tales episode?

Episode length varies by age group. Stories for younger children can be as short as 2 minutes, while stories for older children may be longer and divided into chapters or episodes.

Listening & Bedtime

Are EchoMe Tales stories bedtime stories or daytime stories?

EchoMe Tales stories are primarily conceived as bedtime stories. Because they are audio-only, children can enjoy them without visual screen exposure. Most stories are designed to create a gentle transition to bedtime and end with a warm “Good night”.

They can also be enjoyed during quiet time, car journeys, travel or daytime relaxation. Parents are welcome to suggest other moments or routines they would like us to create stories for.

Can children listen independently?

Parents should decide whether independent listening is appropriate based on the child's age and the playback device. Younger children may benefit from listening alongside an adult.

Why Choose Audio Stories Instead of Video Stories?

Audio storytelling offers several benefits, particularly for bedtime

Imagination

Without pictures or animations, children create their own mental images and become active participants in the story.

Vocabulary and language

Listening without relying on visuals encourages children to focus on words, meanings, pronunciation and language. Younger children can also repeat new words.

Bedtime and sleep

Screens and their light exposure can interfere with the body's natural preparation for sleep, tricking the brain that it's daylight. An audio story provides a calmer option before bedtime.

Screen-free listening

Children can relax and listen without needing to watch or hold a screen.

Parents Bonus

Once the story is playing on Spotify, parents can stay nearby while their child listens and use their phone for quiet tasks without making the child's bedtime routine screen-based.

Does listening to EchoMe Tales count as screen time?

Listening to an audio-only story is not screen viewing when the device screen is turned off or put away. EchoMe Tales is designed to give children a storytelling experience without requiring visual screen engagement.

However, parents may still want to consider the child’s overall media and audio consumption

Children, Safety & Privacy

Does EchoMe Tales collect my child's personal information?

EchoMe Tales does not collect personal information from children for listening on Spotify. Information related to Spotify listening is handled under Spotify's own terms and privacy policies, which parents should review directly with Spotify.

If a parent requests a custom story that is not currently available, we may ask for limited details such as the child's name and age. We ask parents to send these details through private channels, such as email or direct message, rather than public comments or posts.

Please do not share unnecessary or sensitive information about your child.

Does EchoMe Tales require photos of children?

No. A child's photo is not required to create a personalised audio story.

Families, Support & Feedback

Can I use EchoMe Tales for multiple children or siblings?

Yes. Families can listen to personalised stories for different children or enjoy stories together as a family.

What if my child does not like a story?

Children have different interests and preferences. If a story is not a good fit, try another story or contact us with your feedback. We welcome suggestions for new themes, interests and story ideas.

How can I suggest a new story or report an issue?
For errors, pronunciation issues or story suggestions, contact EchoMe Tales at contact@echometales.com or through the official website or social media channels.

When reporting an issue, please include the story title and a brief description of the problem. For custom story requests, please use private communication rather than public comments.
